It’s about to get contemporary up in here! American Idol
Season 11’s Top 7 are going to sing songs that they’re actually old enough to
remember this week.
Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe let it slip on his Twitter
account the theme for Wednesday’s performances is “This Decade,” meaning the
remaining contestants will be able to choose from songs released in 2010, 2011,
and 2012. It’s a short period of time, but there’s tons of amazing material in
there.
Nigel later added that they’ll work with R&B artist Akon,
who performed on the show in 2007.
